It’s getting easier to tote my canvas bags wherever I go (provided I figure I’m hitting a store) even if it’s not a grocery store. On the grocery side though, I still use plastic bags for fruits and veggies – but I want to stop that and will likely place an order for some cotton net bags here near the end of the week. There’s also these cotton mesh bags but the net ones seem easier to see through for when you check out/look in your fridge for the delicious goodies inside. I’ve read plenty of reviews and blog articles about these and they confirm that they don’t add much weight, if any at all to the scale.
If you buy more than 10, they cost $3.25 each from this site, as opposed to $3.95 for up to 4 and $3.45 for 4 to 9 – I’ll check into others, but this is the place I’ve got bookmarked. So, if anyone local wants to go in on some of these bags if you need them let me know! We can save on shipping and save $0.20-$0.60 per bag.
woooohooo! a new post!! i also really like the string market bags too. man do they expand to fill a lot in one little bag. carrying my own bags to the store has now become such a habit and i really really feel guilty when i forget them. i love checking out other folks’ bags too hehe. “hay , what are you carrying your groceries in!??”
I like the cotton strings bags, but they’re really hard to find in my area. They have been putting up some new huge canvas/recycle plastic bags that can fit a whole car in. *laughs*
